The story behind DOCUAN
Discover the artistic journey of Domingo Cuevas-Andújar, known artistically as DOCUAN. From his roots in Bajos de Haina, Dominican Republic, to creating international Latin music in Jersey City, DOCUAN blends rich Dominican rhythms with inspirational messages that unite generations across cultures.
Roots, faith, and inspiration
DOCUAN’s passion for songwriting began in Bajos de Haina, Dominican Republic, surrounded by community, family, and deep-rooted faith. Early involvement in choirs and cultural gatherings shaped his creative identity, turning music into a tool to share emotions, honor memories, and uplift communities. His original catalog celebrates Dominican roots through lively merengue, heartfelt bachata, soulful salsa, and tropical melodies with themes of hope, dignity, and perseverance.
A distinct tropical fusion
DOCUAN’s sound combines energetic percussion, danceable rhythms, and evocative lyrics that touch the soul. With projects such as “My Perfect Sway,” “La Luna de Haina,” “Mi Refugio,” “Amar de Verdad,” and “La Cima o la Mano,” DOCUAN Music Dream delivers an authentic tropical blend. Rooted in Dominican heritage and produced for an international audience, every release invites listeners to dance, reflect, and celebrate life together.
